This two- bed terraced house on George’s Avenue in Blackrock was transformed into a luxurious one-bedroom home. The brief was to create a home that made best use of the existing space. They enjoyed their garden and did not want to overly reduce it by extending, so the outside space became just as important to the indoor space. Design details such as using the same floor tiles both internally and externally helped create the illusion of additional space by blurring the lines between. We chose a neutral palette of stoney greys which was accented with orange to further enhance the feeling of space. On the first floor the second bedroom was converted into a large bathroom which accommodated a walk through wardrobe into the master bedroom which was originally split into two rooms.
